CANDIDATE STATEMENT
What do you see as the purpose of Professional Representatives in the Fraternity?
The key purpose of Professional Representatives is organizational leadership — empowering alumni to explore leadership in the Grand Chapter and providing the space and structure for PRs to carry forward the objects of the fraternity beyond graduation.
What do you believe are the biggest needs or concerns of the Professional Branch?
There seem to be very few professional branches/groups nationwide compared to the number of collegiate branches. There likely are logistical challenges contributing to this, which would be a task worth tackling. In Michigan there isn’t a nearby professional group, but there are likely alumni like himself elsewhere who would be interested if one existed. The sense of community and brotherhood beyond the collegiate level could be strengthened by connecting the Alpha Chi Sigma family across barriers.
What projects or goals would you work towards as a Professional Representative?
Enjoyed organizing/establishing the Science Festival at NC State and would love to see the AXΣ Science Festival become a nationwide event, given his passion for accessibility in STEM and using outreach to advocate for inclusivity and connect with local communities.
What skills or characteristics make you an excellent candidate for leadership within the Fraternity?
Extremely organized, detail-oriented, experienced with mitigating conflict, and effective at leading under pressure — for example, when his chapter lost funding access for a semester, he found a way to deliver lower brother dues and more free meals while absorbing the unprecedented costs of the Science Festival, keeping the chapter in the black.
What else would you like Professional Brothers to know about you?
Participation in Alpha Chi Sigma was one of the most formative experiences of his undergraduate years, and he is excited for the opportunity to further serve his community.

What do you see as the purpose of Professional Representatives in the Fraternity?
PRs give a voice to professional brothers, especially those not near a professional group or chapter, and help keep professional brothers engaged with the fraternity — especially recently graduated brothers — while deepening networking and connections and supporting the diverse career paths brothers take.
What do you believe are the biggest needs or concerns of the Professional Branch?
The Professional Branch needs to help recently graduated brothers stay engaged as they transition into professional life, maintaining the sense of community they had as collegiates. Engaging a young professional brother looks different from engaging a longtime professional brother, so PRs need to build networking and connection foundations that consistently engage brothers across generations and across the country.
What projects or goals would you work towards as a Professional Representative?
Would work to create opportunities for brothers to connect and network — already collaborating with GPA Faith to organize brothers attending the AIChE conference — and envisions using social media, including “Ask a brother” Q&A sessions focused on navigating industry careers or graduate school, to highlight professional brothers’ achievements.
What skills or characteristics make you an excellent candidate for leadership within the Fraternity?
Experience representing brothers as chair of the Student Advisory Council, advising GMA Merryn on collegiate concerns nationwide, which exposed her to the professional branch and gave her multiple perspectives. As a recent graduate, is well positioned to give voice to her generation of brothers in the professional branch.
What else would you like Professional Brothers to know about you?
Has held leadership positions in several organizations beyond Alpha Chi Sigma, including president of a youth service organization in Michigan (2022) and currently Division Chief Steward for the College of Engineering in her union. Has attended many district conclaves and three Supreme Council meetings, giving experience with fraternal operations beyond the collegiate branch.

CANDIDATE STATEMENT
What do you see as the purpose of Professional Representatives in the Fraternity?
PRs are positioned to advise the Grand Chapter on matters that keep the fraternity functioning at a high level, and to serve as resources and liaisons for collegiate members as they transition into the professional workforce.
What do you believe are the biggest needs or concerns of the Professional Branch?
The workforce is uncertain — investment in AI without clear payout, biotech and other industries on unsure footing, and academia facing serious funding and morale challenges — so the professional branch should focus on building a strong network to help brothers navigate informed career choices. The nature of how organizations connect has also changed significantly since COVID-19, so finding ways to thrive as an organization in the current climate, at both the collegiate and professional level, is important.
What projects or goals would you work towards as a Professional Representative?
Would start by reinforcing current connections and building new, strong connections with other brothers, with particular interest in career-connection topics and public engagement/science literacy — prioritizing brothers’ well-being throughout any project.
What skills or characteristics make you an excellent candidate for leadership within the Fraternity?
Demonstrated experience in leadership and mentorship roles, plus strong project planning and management experience, including both hands-on work and delegation, with leadership that is transparent and welcoming of feedback.
What else would you like Professional Brothers to know about you?
Passionate about science literacy, public engagement, and facilitating connections between scientists and the public, and between science, the arts, and the humanities — and hopes to connect with many brothers regardless of the PR outcome.

CANDIDATE STATEMENT
What do you see as the purpose of Professional Representatives in the Fraternity?
PRs are vital to the continued development and engagement of members regionally and nationally after graduation. The chemical arts community extends far beyond collegiate academia, so PRs must bridge the gap between traditional and non-traditional career paths and the fraternity.
What do you believe are the biggest needs or concerns of the Professional Branch?
Continued engagement with younger post-graduate brothers is essential — it’s difficult to pull graduating brothers back in once they’ve decided to move on, so identifying engagement strategies for post-collegiate alumni right out of school is vital to growing the professional branch in numbers, perspectives, and knowledge.
What projects or goals would you work towards as a Professional Representative?
Would love to help develop an AXΣ presence at a national or regional ACS meeting to create a space for in-school and professional members to network and exchange research, along with continued expansion of AXΣ into the western region through new professional and collegiate charters and chapters.
What skills or characteristics make you an excellent candidate for leadership within the Fraternity?
A strong and accountable work ethic paired with creativity for developing novel ideas, along with empathy and the ability to consider all points of view when helping make complex, multi-faceted decisions.
What else would you like Professional Brothers to know about you?
Although limited in fraternity experience, believes his experiences within and outside the fraternity and the chemical arts will lend unique viewpoints to help grow the Professional Branch and the fraternity as a whole.

What do you see as the purpose of Professional Representatives in the Fraternity?
PRs are the voice of professionals not in a chapter. They also work to promote the professional branch and build excitement to keep others engaged.
What do you believe are the biggest needs or concerns of the Professional Branch?
The professional branch needs to promote itself better so people stay involved and keep building relationships with other brothers — when people have friends they want to spend time with, they attend more events and get more involved. PRs can be the front line for solving this by pooling resources. There’s also a need to find better ways for different generations of brothers to connect.
What projects or goals would you work towards as a Professional Representative?
Would like to find a way to keep the excitement of Conclave going throughout the biennium, and help young professionals stay involved by showing them the professional branch is not as time-consuming as their collegiate experience.
What skills or characteristics make you an excellent candidate for leadership within the Fraternity?
A good listener who can take information from others and turn it into new programs or experiences. As an educator, has the skills to create and present programs (e.g., about Conclave) and could do the same for other topics as needed.
What else would you like Professional Brothers to know about you?
In her job, manages and trains graduate and undergraduate students, and enjoys learning new things even while teaching the same material, since everyone brings a different perspective.

CANDIDATE STATEMENT
What do you see as the purpose of Professional Representatives in the Fraternity?
PRs act as a bridge between the Professional and Collegiate Branches, ensuring the interests of professional members are represented and the fraternity’s objectives are upheld by creating opportunities for professional networking, mentorship, and meaningful involvement so members stay connected long after graduation.
What do you believe are the biggest needs or concerns of the Professional Branch?
Keeping members engaged after graduation is one of the greatest challenges — many transition into careers or graduate school and lose regular contact with the fraternity, which she’s seen happen with people from her own collegiate chapter. There is a need for more engagement, communication, and advertising about how recent graduates can get involved as professional members, as well as more interaction between collegiates and professionals so collegiates see the benefit of continuing involvement.
What projects or goals would you work towards as a Professional Representative?
Wants to expand interaction between professional and collegiate members through mentorship, career panels, and networking events. As current PR, her main focus has been organizing events at national conferences (regional ACS meetings, ASMS meetings, etc.) and increasing communication between professional members and collegiates through dedicated contact points.
What skills or characteristics make you an excellent candidate for leadership within the Fraternity?
Previous service as MM, MA, and now PR has built teamwork skills and the ability to create opportunities that promote engagement for all members. As a graduate student, connects with members across academia and industry, giving a broad perspective for engaging the Professional Branch.
What else would you like Professional Brothers to know about you?
Alpha Chi Sigma has been an important part of her personal and professional growth since 2019. Having recently transitioned from collegiate to professional membership, she understands both perspectives and is committed to helping members remain connected throughout their careers, and would like to continue the goals she began during her current PR term.
